Books I read about Hollywood warned me about the jerks I would meet, the arrogant producers, witless executives and sharks of all descriptions. East Coast writers who had never worked in Hollywood told me I would hate it – that the people I would work with were scum.
When I got out here, I met amiable, multi-faceted professionals eager to explore tangents in conversation; people adept at listening and respectful of the writing process.
The only asshole I’ve met is another writer.
